Baruch Ata YHVH, our Elohim, Sovereign of the heavens and the earth. Thank You for this Shabbat within the Feast of Booths. May Your rest cover us and Your presence renew us. Let our sukkot and our hearts be filled with Your peace. Baruch YHVH.
As we partake of the bread and the cup, we remember that Yahusha HaMashiach is our Rest and our Covering. Through His body and His blood, we enter into covenant life and peace. As we dwell in the sukkah, we also dwell in His presence, sheltered under His wings.
On this Shabbat of Sukkot, we are reminded that true rest is not idleness - it is communion with YHVH. The sukkah becomes a symbol of surrender, where the striving of the flesh ceases, and the spirit learns to abide.
“For thus said the Master YHVH, the Set-apart One of Yisra’el, ‘In returning and rest you are saved; in stillness and trust is your strength.’”
- Yeshayahu 30:15 (YAH Scriptures)
Sukkot is a time to dwell in His Presence, but Shabbat within Sukkot is the heart of that dwelling. It’s where joy becomes stillness and discernment becomes rest.
“And He said, ‘My Presence does go, and I shall give you rest.’”
- Shemoth 33:14 (YAH Scriptures)
When Moshe heard these words, he knew that the rest of Elohim is not a place - it is His Presence. Wherever YHVH abides, there is rest.
“For the one who has entered into His rest has himself also rested from his works, as Elohim did from His own.”
- Iḇrim 4:10 (YAH Scriptures)
The sukkah teaches us this principle: our covering is not our doing. Our strength is in trusting. The world chases comfort, but those who know YHVH seek His peace.
“Peace I leave with you - My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
- Yoḥanan 14:27 (YAH Scriptures)
As the Ru'ach fills us, we discern that true rest prepares us for the days ahead. It is the calm before the harvest, the peace before the gathering. Shabbat during Sukkot reminds us that even in the wilderness, the presence of YHVH turns temporary shelters into eternal sanctuaries.
Baruch Ata YHVH, our Rest and our Redeemer. Thank You for this Shabbat of peace. May Your Presence dwell among us, and may Your Word abide within us. Let our rest be holy and our joy complete in You. Baruch YHVH.
“Hear, O Yisra’ĕl: YHVH is our Elohim, YHVH is one.
And you shall love YHVH your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your might.
And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.
And you shall teach them diligently to your children,
And you shall speak of them when you sit in your house,
And when you walk by the way,
And when you lie down,
And when you rise up.
- Devarim 6:4-9 (YAH Scriptures)
“YHVH bless you, and keep you;
YHVH make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you;
YHVH lift up His face upon you, and give you peace.”
- Bemiḏbar 6:24-26 (YAH Scriptures)
Until tomorrow. Shalom!
