Shalom, Mitspacha, on Yom Shlishi!
“And now, Yisra’el, what is YHVH your Elohim asking of you, but to fear YHVH your Elohim, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, and to serve YHVH your Elohim with all your heart and with all your being; to guard the commands of YHVH and His laws which I am commanding you today for your good.”
— Debarim (Deuteronomy) 10:12–13 (Yah Scriptures)
YHVH Elohei HaBerith, Covenant Keeper, we stand before You as Your people - those whom You have redeemed. Teach us to walk not only as believers, but as covenant partners. Bind our hearts with cords of steadfast love, that obedience may flow freely, and our lives may bear witness to Your enduring faithfulness. Let our words and works be signatures upon Your covenant scroll. Todah va Yadah for choosing us to walk in Your ways. Baruch YHVH.
A covenant is not an agreement of convenience - it is a binding relationship of loyalty.
“And I shall take you as My people, and I shall be your Elohim.”
— Shemoth (Exodus) 6:7
YHVH’s covenant is His heart extended toward humanity; faithfulness is our heart extended back to Him.
Covenant hearts remember. Forgetfulness leads to compromise.
“Only guard yourself, and guard your life diligently, lest you forget the words your eyes have seen.”
— Debarim (Deuteronomy) 4:9
Every act of remembrance - each Shabbat, each festival - is a renewal of covenant love.
Faithfulness (emunah) is not emotion but endurance.
“The righteous lives by his steadfastness.”
— Habbaquq (Habakkuk) 2:4
The covenant heart does not shift with seasons; it holds firm through trial, standing as a witness that YHVH is worthy of trust.
Obedience is the language of love.
“If you love Me, you shall guard My commands.”
— Yohanan (John) 14:15
Torah is not the chain of bondage; it is the pathway of affection. The one who loves, obeys with joy.
Covenant loyalty is proven when no one sees.
“For the eyes of YHVH run to and fro throughout all the earth to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is perfect toward Him.”
— 2 Divrei HaYamim (2 Chronicles) 16:9
Integrity in secret strengthens covenant in public.
Even covenant-keepers stumble; restoration remains available.
“Return, O backsliding children, declares YHVH, for I shall rule over you. And I shall take you, one from a city and two from a clan, and shall bring you to Tsiyon.”
— Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 3:14
Repentance is not breaking the covenant - it is renewing it. YHVH delights in mercy more than punishment.
The covenant heart does not walk alone.
“They entered into a covenant to seek YHVH Elohim of their fathers with all their heart and with all their being.”
— 2 Divrei HaYamim (2 Chronicles) 15:12
Faithfulness grows in fellowship; isolation breeds forgetfulness. Guard one another in obedience.
“And this is My blood of the renewed covenant, which is shed for many for the forgiveness of sins.” — Mattithyahu (Matthew) 26:28
The covenant of Yahusha is written not on stone alone but on hearts cleansed by His blood. This blood calls us to live as the redeemed - holy and faithful.
“Remember all the way which YHVH your Elohim led you these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you, to prove you, to know what is in your heart.” — Debarim (Deuteronomy) 8:2
Testing reveals loyalty. The covenant heart praises in scarcity as in plenty.
“The secret of YHVH is with those who fear Him, and He makes His covenant known to them.” — Tehillim (Psalm) 25:14
Reverent awe keeps the heart from wandering. Fear of YHVH is the fence around covenant life.
“Blessed are those who guard His witnesses, who seek Him with all the heart.” — Tehillim (Psalm) 119:2
Covenant faithfulness brings delight, not drudgery. The obedient heart walks in joy because it is aligned with its Creator.
“And I shall make an everlasting covenant with them, that I do not turn away from doing good to them; and I shall put My fear in their hearts so that they do not turn aside from Me.” — Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 32:40
YHVH’s part in the covenant is unbreakable; our calling is to mirror His constancy. When His fear fills the heart, faithfulness becomes natural.
Mitzvah: To guard and walk in the covenant of YHVH with love, obedience, and reverence.
“And you shall guard My covenant, and I shall set you apart from the peoples.”
— Shemoth (Exodus) 19:5–6
Faithfulness is a mitzvah of remembrance - renewed every day through obedience and gratitude.
YHVH HaNe’eman, Faithful and True, plant within us steadfast hearts that do not wander. Let our obedience spring from love, our love from reverence, and our reverence from knowing You. Keep us within Your everlasting covenant, and let Your faithfulness be reflected in our own. Make our lives living testimonies that declare: You are Elohim, and there is none beside You. Todah va Yadah, for Your covenant stands forever. Baruch YHVH.
Until tomorrow. Shalom.
